Funeral Today for Miss Jeanette Sloane

Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock today for Miss Jeanette Moulton Sloane who died at a local hospital on Feb. 2nd. Services at the Guy W. Jenness Mortuary will be followed by private interment.

Miss Sloane (Aunt Jennie to her relatives) was born in Michigan 70 years ago. Miss Sloane had lived in Marin County for 28 years and made her home in Corte Madera until a few months ago. She lived with her mother, Mrs. Nettie Sloane, who was nearly a century old at the time of her death.

Miss Sloane was a bookkeeper and was employed for some time in the San Rafael office of Dr. Harry Hund. For some years she had heart ailment but continued to work. Deeply interested in literature, she drew to her home many friends of similar tastes.

California relatives who survive “Aunt Jennie” are Robert Sloane of Berkeley, a nephew, and a niece, Mrs. Blanche E. Smith of Grants Pass, Oregon.

Miss Sloane’s family were related to the Moulton family of Le Roy, Michigan, and her cousins were the economist, Harold G. Moulton of Washington, D.C., statistician for the Brookings Institute; Earl L. Moulton of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Forest Ray Moulton, famous astronomer of Washington, D.C., and Vera Moulton of Lansing, Michigan.
