San Francisco Pioneer Dies In San Rafael
Giovanni Cuneo, a wealthy pioneer and director of the Columbus Savings Bank of San Francisco, died at the Cottage Hospital here Friday night after an illness of about a month. He was one of the leading members of the San Francisco Italian colony.
Upon the advice of his physician, Cuneo was removed to San Rafael and placed under treatment of Dr. J. H. Kuser. Dr. Kuser, however, after his first examination, declared that Cuneo’s illness was fatal, and death was only a matter of weeks. It is believed that the end was hastened by the grief of Cuneo over the death of his favorite son, Cyrus, a noted London artist, a few weeks ago. The deceased is survived by a widow, four married daughters and two sons, all of San Francisco.
