MRS. MATHENY
Mrs. Eleanor Matheny, 73, of 156 The Alameda, San Anselmo, died yesterday in a local hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Matheny came to the San Francisco Bay Area about 1900. She lived in Mill Valley during the 1920s and moved to Alameda where she lived until 1950, when she returned to Marin County.
She was the widow of Charles Matheny Sr., partner in an Oakland beauty supply house until he retired shortly before his death about 12 years ago.
Surviving are a son, Charles Jr. of San Anselmo; a daughter, Virginia R. of Corte Madera; three sisters, Mrs. Dilma Albright of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Ann Korn of Sacramento, and Mrs. Josephine Foster of Los Angeles; two brothers, Elmer Ur of Los Angeles and Emil Ur of Big Sur, and three grandchildren.
