GEORGE S. PETERSON
A private service was held for George S. Peterson, a former Marin resident who died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1986, at Marin General Hospital.
For the past year, Mr. Peterson, who was 60, had been living in Arnold, Calaveras County. He was in Marin this week visiting.
He was born in San Francisco and grew up in Marin County. Before moving to Arnold, he had lived in Petaluma, San Anselmo and Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
He was a salesman who had worked with heavy equipment and real estate firms.
“He was always busy, never a dull moment,” said his wife, Janet. “He loved working with tools.”
Mr. Arnold was a member of the Elks, Rotary and Lions clubs in Marin and the Petaluma Moose Club.
Survivors in addition to his wife are a son, John S. Peterson of Escondido, San Diego County; two daughters, Kathy Kelly of Seattle and Sally Peterson of Shasta County; a stepson, Dr. William Rhodes of Cape Cod, Mass.; and eight grandchildren.
According to his wishes, a gathering to honor his memory will be held in the spring in Arnold.
The family prefers memorial contributions to any branch of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
