CARLETON P. WILLSON

Private family services will be held for Carleton P. Willson of San Geronimo, a retired auto mechanic and longtime Marin resident.

Mr. Willson died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1986, at his home after a short illness. He was 74.

He worked as a mechanic for Toby’s Trucking Co. in Point Reyes Station for 15 years before retiring in 1972.

He was born in Cranberry, W. Va., and settled in California in 1935.

He spent many years serving in the Navy at Mare Island, where he worked as a lens grinder.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and camping.

Mr. Willson is survived by his wife, Margaret Willson of San Geronimo; three sons, Robert Willson of San Geronimo, Grant Willson of San Jose and David Willson of Medford, Ore.; a daughter, Linda Buffo of Petaluma; his mother, Russie Willson of Maryland; three brothers, Robert Willson of Michigan, Billy Willson of Pennsylvania and Van Willson of Maryland; three sisters, Miriam O’Leary of Pennsylvania, Madolyn Byrne of Ohio and Betty Pat Runyon of Maryland; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family prefers that memorial donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.
