DOROTHY BAKER

Dorothy Baker of Mill Valley, who enjoyed writing and theater activities, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1992, at the Rafael Convalescent Home following a lengthy illness. She was 79.

Born in 1913 in Great Falls, Minn., she was reared in Montana and attended the University of Montana. She later married Frederick A. Baker Sr., a career Air Fore officer, and the couple traveled the globe as part of his career.

Mrs. Baker helped set up an animal shelter at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines, as well as a children’s day care center at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah.

She was active in local theater, writing, directing and acting in plays. She particularly enjoyed writing, not only plays but stories and family history, said her daughter, Sharon Baker of Mill Valley.

Mrs. Baker is also survived by a son, Fred Baker of Petaluma.

Private family services are pending. Memorial contributions are preferred to the American Diabetes Association, 1368 Lincoln Ave., San Rafael, 94901.
