HELEN LATHROP
Helen M. Lathrop, former bank employee, died yesterday at her home, 331 Golden Gate Avenue, Belvedere, after a long illness.
Mrs. Lathrop, 75, had been employed by the American Trust Bank in San Francisco for 25 years. She was the widow of Leland Stanford Lathrop, a nephew of Leland Stanford, founder of the university bearing his name.
Mrs. Lathrop, a native of Post Falls, Ida., had been a resident of Belvedere for eight years after living for many years in San Francisco. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in San Francisco.
Surviving are three sisters, Flora McMurtry of Houston, A. Lillian Wormald of San Rafael, and Addie Chipman of Spokane, Wash., and a brother, Earl L. Mitchell, also of Spokane.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary in San Rafael. Inurnment will be private. The family prefers contributions to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco or to a favorite charity.
