Clotilde J. Reed, Marin Pioneer, Is Called by Death
Clotilde J. Reed, member of one of the oldest families of Marin county, passed away today (Thursday) in a hospital here at the age of 81. She was born in 1859 on the vast holdings of her father, the late John Reed, who at one time owned about two-thirds of the Tiburon peninsula.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Keaton Mortuary, with interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Oakland.
The Reeds are members of the early Spanish families and their vast holdings here came to then from early Spanish grants.
