Brother of Local Residents Dies at Yountville Friday
Vasco de Silva Jr., a brother of Joe de Silva, Rose Waltzer and Ernestine Amaral, of San Rafael, died last Friday at the Yountville Veterans’ Home where he had been receiving treatment for an illness from which there was no relief. He was born in the Bermuda Islands, was 45 years of age and had never married.
When the son passed away his father, Vasco de Silva Sr., was in a hospital at Santa Rosa. Other brothers and sisters of the deceased are Tony, George, Edward, William, John de Silva, Sebastopol; August de Silva, Oakland; Manuel de Silva, Watsonville.
Vasco de Silva was a World War veteran, and was buried with military honor at the Yountville cemetery last Monday.
Funeral service was held at Napa, followed by a requiem mass at the Catholic Church there.
