Thomas McCune , Pioneer of Fallon, Is Fatally Stricken

Thomas McCune, Marin county pioneer, died at the McCune ranch near Fallon last Friday, where he was born 74 years ago. He had been suffering for some time with a stroke, and the end came Friday evening, about 8 o’clock, when he was seized again, and never recovered.

McCune was widely known throughout the coast area of Marin and Sonoma counties. He was born and reared at Fallon, and was particularly well known at Tomales where he had many friends.

His parents were the late Thomas and Annie McCune, who were among the early settlers of the Fallon district. They acquired the ranch which is still owned by members of the family.

Mr. McCune leaves two sisters, Annie McCune, Mrs. William Cornett. A brother, James McCune, passed away a few years ago.

Funeral service was held Monday forenoon at 9:15 from the Blackburn & Sorensen funeral chapel at Petaluma, thence to the Church of the Assumption at Tomales, where a requiem mass was said for the repose of his soul. Interment was at the Tomales cemetery.
