EVELYN M. VERONDA
Evelyn M. Veronda, a longtime Petaluma resident, died Saturday at a hospital in Santa Rosa after a long illness. She was 71.
Mrs. Veronda was a member of the Duncan family, early ranchers in the Tomales area.
She was a homemaker and a life member of the Petaluma Riding and Driving Club.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James Veronda of Petaluma; two daughters, Darlene Jensen of Penngrove and Jo Ann Wallenstein of Petaluma; a sister, Tillie Bettencourt of Mill Valley; a brother, San Duncan of Oregon; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A private funeral will be held Wednesday. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary in Petaluma.
The family prefers that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 826 St. Helena Ave., Santa Rosa, 95404.
