Local Mining Man Taken By Death
James C. Brown, retired mining man, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the West End Sanitarium after a month’s illness from heart trouble.
The deceased has been a resident of San Rafael for about six years, but as his mining interests threw him in contact with men in mining and financial circles, he was better known in San Francisco than in San Rafael. His home during his residence here had been in the Forbes Building on Fourth street.
Although 77 years of age, until about a month ago he had made daily trips to San Francisco. He was a native of Richmond, Virginia.
The deceased is survived by two sons and a daughter, Winfield S. K. Brown, of Mill Valley, and William Brown, now in Washington, D.C., both attorneys, are the sons, and Mrs. J. (illegible) of San Francisco, is the daughter.
The funeral will be held in San Francisco at 10 o’clock tomorrow, and the interment will be private.
