MAURICE THOMAS WORDEN
A graveside service for Maurice Thomas Worden, a former building contractor and longtime Marin County resident, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Davis Cemetery in Davis.
Mr. Worden died Monday at Marin General Hospital after a long illness. He was 79.
He was a building contractor in San Francisco.
He was born in Plumas Junction, Lassen County, and had lived in Marin since 1950. For 14 years, he lived in San Anselmo; then in 1964, he moved to Mill Valley.
A flower fancier, Mr. Worden was a member of the Marin Orchid Society and the Northern California Chapter of the American Daffodil Society.
Survivors are his wife, Muriel; four daughters, Vivien Travis of Lake Tahoe, Ann Worden of Boston, Mass., Sarah Rainey of Spring, Texas, and Lucia Hicks of Merced; a son, Ross Worden of San Francisco; a brother, Clarence W. Worden of Sparks, Nev.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial donations to the American Daffodil Society, Route 3, 2302 Byhalia Road, Hernando, Miss., 38632.
