Community Saddened by Girl’s Death

Miss Irene Manney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Manney of Petaluma avenue, passed away Monday at Mt. Zion Hospital in San Francisco after an illness from pneumonia.

The sad announcement caused poignant sorrow among the countless friends of the girl, who was universally popular. She was but twenty years of age and had just entered upon the career which she had selected for her life’s work – that of a nurse.

The funeral will be held today at the family residence, and later a requiem mass will be celebrated in the Catholic Church.

She is survived by her parents and brother and sister, Edward and Alice Manney.
