ALEX POHORILES
Alex Pohoriles, a longtime Marin County resident, died Wednesday at his home in Sleepy Hollow after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Pohoriles, 74, had been a real estate broker for Gallagher-Sturiale Realtors before retiring two years ago. He was a member of the Marin County Board of Realtors.
He was born in San Francisco and moved to Marin 28 years ago. For a time, he lived in Larkspur and then moved to Sleepy Hollow in 1965.
He served in the Army in the Pacific 1944 to 1946.
He was a member of the B’nai B’rith and was an associate member of Hadassah, both in Marin.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; a son, Bruce Pohoriles of San Rafael; a daughter, Karen Arrow of Novato; a brother, Stanley Pohoriles of San Francisco; a sister, Beulah Rivero of San Francisco; and one granddaughter.
A private memorial service is planned.
The family requests that contributions in his memory be made to the Marin chapter of the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
