Paul H. Slattery
Music teacher
Paul H. Slattery, a former Fairfax resident, died of heart failure April 19. He was 72.
Mr. Slattery, who lived most recently in Sunnyvale, was born in San Francisco. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a music teacher at the elementary and high school level. Over the years, Mr. Slattery's student orchestras and bands won many competitive awards.
Mr. Slattery played many instruments, including the clarinet and the piano, his favorites. He also sang for many years in a barbershop quartet and the church choir.
His other interests included golf, baseball and softball.
He is survived by his son, James Slattery of Forest Knolls; two daughters, Kelly Slattery of Forest Knolls and Antoinette Reynolds of Cotati.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Sunnyvale.
