RUTH B. McNEELY
A private service has been held for Ruth B. McNeely, a resident of Mill Valley since 1976.
Mrs. McNeely died Wednesday, May 4, 1988, at The Redwoods retirement home in Mill Valley following a short illness. She was 81.
Mrs. McNeely was a native of Minnesota. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1928.
She married Thomas William McNeely, a lieutenant colonel in the Marine Corps, and moved with him throughout the United States. For many years, they lived in San Francisco, where Mrs. McNeely worked for about 20 years as a mortgage loan examiner for the Veterans Administration.
She enjoyed music and composed many songs. A memorial concert of her music will be performed at The Redwoods later this month.
Mrs. McNeely was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Retired Officers Association and Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Mrs. McNeely is survived by a daughter, Eleanor M. White of Milford, N.H.; and one grandchild. Her husband died earlier.
Burial was in Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be sent to the Disabled American Veterans or to the Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
