Pioneer Resident Summoned Above
Mrs. Mary Ryan, beloved wife of the late Edward Ryan, a resident of Sausalito township for nearly sixty years and a resident of Sausalito for over a quarter of a century, quietly passed away at her home on Girard Avenue, Sausalito, on Monday after making a hard struggle for life.
Star of the Sea church was crowded with people who came to attend requiem mass said for the repose of her soul on Wednesday and a large number attended the last rites at the grave in Fernwood cemetery. The site of the home where she lived a third of a century ago, is visible from her last resting place.
Mrs. Ryan was a native of Ireland, aged 74 years, and her death is deeply mourned by her affectionate children: William H., John J., Edward, George T., Charles J., M. Elizabeth and Margaret Ryan and Mrs. Clinton Mason.
She was a woman of a very warn and affectionate disposition, one that was always deeply beloved by her acquaintances and always very charitable.
The latchstring of the Ryans in early days was always within reach of the needy stranger.
