JOHN D. LINDSEY
A memorial service was Sunday in Alamo for Fairfax native John D. Lindsey. Mr. Lindsey died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1987, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Walnut Creek after a long illness. He was 72.
Mr. Lindsey, a longtime resident of Alamo, graduated from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley. He served as a captain for the Signal Corps in the Pacific during World War II. He worked for Pacific Telephone for many years until 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel Lindsey of Alamo; two daughters, Sydney Rogla of Alamo, and Catherine O’Keefe of Canada; three sisters, Marjory Lindsey of Sonoma, Barbara Thompson of San Rafael, and Sarah Daveler of Larkspur; and three grandchildren.
Burial was at Golden Gate National Cemetery.
The family asks that memorial donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.
