MILDRED L. WITTEKIND
A memorial service for Mildred L. Wittekind, a former resident of Novato, will be at 3 p.m. today at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Novato.
Mrs. Wittekind died recently in Santa Barbara after a bout with cancer. She was 87.
She spent most of her life in her native Midwest before moving to Novato in 1983. She spent the past eight months with her daughter in Santa Barbara.
Mrs. Wittekind is survived by a brother, Robert E. Thiele of Cincinnati, Ohio; three daughters, Laura Techentin of Santa Barbara, Anna Sattler of Novato and Mary Batterman of Cedarburg, Wis.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Illinois.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be sent to the Good Shepherd Lutheran School or the American Cancer Society.
