GLORIA S. WELLIVER
A memorial service for Gloria S. Welliver of Petaluma will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Church of Christ, 825 Middlefield Drive, Petaluma.
Mrs. Welliver died unexpectedly Friday, Aug. 21, 1987, while vacationing in Colville, Wash. She was 59.
She was born and reared in Boston, Mass. She received her nursing degree in 1949 from the New England Hospital for Children and Women in Malden, Mass. She worked at several hospitals in Massachusetts, New York, the Panama Canal Zone and Virginia as well as doctors’ offices in Connecticut.
Mrs. Welliver moved to Petaluma [in] 1982. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and its Genesis group.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Harold R. Welliver of Petaluma; a son, Barry H. Welliver of San Anselmo; a daughter, Mora A. Kollmann of Tulsa, Okla.; three sisters, Nina Henderson of Burlington, Mass., Lillian Dunleavy of Malden, Mass., and Eleanor Schifflett of Medford, Mass.; and three grandchildren.
Another daughter, Gail J. Welliver, died previously.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary in Petaluma. Private burial will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park in Petaluma.
The family prefers that contributions be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 415 A St., Petaluma, 94952 or to the Leukemia Society of America, Room 714, 323 Geary St., San Francisco, 94102.
