PAUL STALEY MASON
A private memorial service will be conducted for Paul Staley Mason of San Rafael, a longtime Marin resident.
He died Monday, Aug. 24, 1987, at the age of 48 in a drowning accident in the Sacramento Delta area.
Mr. Mason was born in San Antonio, Texas, and moved to Marin with his family in 1952. He was a 1958 graduate of Tamalpais High School.
He served as a lieutenant in the Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Mason returned to Marin 15 years ago. He worked as a fireman with the Alto fire department for about a year. Most recently he co-owned Ser-Pac of Marin, a repair service for commercial laundry equipment, with his father, Paul E. Mason.
In addition to his father, Mr. Mason is survived by his mother, Gwendolyn M. Mason of Greenbrae; his sister, Gwen Taylor, and his niece Michelle Stockwell, both of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and another niece, Leslie Stockwell of San Rafael.
The family prefers that memorial donations be sent to the Tiburon Baptist church Building Fund.
