ELEANOR S. MOSHER

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Eleanor S. Mosher of Mill Valley at 2 p.m. Friday at Russell & Gooch Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Mosher died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 26, 1981. She was 76.

A native of Jenny Lind, Calaveras County, Mrs. Mosher lived in the Tam Valley area for the past 35 years.

She was a member of the American Rose Society and Mill Valley Post 284 of the American Legion.

She retired after a 40-year career as a nurse, working at Ross General Hospital and later at the Hillhaven Convalescent Hospital in Mill Valley.

In the early 1940s, while serving as a U.S. Army Nurse at Fort Lawton, Seattle, she attended to a young Francis W. Mosher Jr., recently wounded in the service of his country. He was transferred out of the hospital by stretcher, but returned on foot 105 days later to marry the nurse who had watched over him.

Mr. Mosher died previously.

She is survived by three sons, Francis W. Mosher III of Germany, John A. Mosher of Ecuador, and Charles R. Mosher of Woodacre; a sister, Bernice Broncato of San Jose; and four grandchildren.

Burial will be at Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Colma.
