BERNARD PETERSON
Masonic funeral for Bernard M. Peterson, 57, of Piedmont, brother of Mrs. Donald Harris of San Rafael, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Evans Funeral Home in Patterson, Stanislaus County.
Peterson was one of 10 men killed last week in a flash fire which erupted while they were building an oil pumping station on the Libyan desert east of Tripoli.
He was a technical supervisor for Bechtel Corp.
The accident was believed caused when a welder’s torch ignited a spark in a pipeline which was filled with natural gas or liquid petroleum.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Peterson, a brother, Wendell Peterson of Palo Alto, and his sister.
The family prefers contributions to any Masonic organization.
