Music Instructor At Dominican Passes
Julio de Osma, 50, widely known musician-composer and music instructor at the Dominican Convent, died Sunday at his home, 919 33rd Street, in Oakland.
de Osma, born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1888, was the son of a Basque organist and of a descendant of the Castilian family. He had toured Europe as a concert pianist and later founded the Conservatory of Music at San Jose, Costa Rica. At the time of his death he was organist of St. Mary’s Church, in Oakland.
His widow, Edra de Osma, artist and portrait painter, survived him.
