Mass Slated for Mrs. Katsuka Hill
Requiem Mass for Mrs. Katsuka Hill, a Novato mother of two who survived the atomic bombing in Hiroshima, Japan, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Catholic Chapel No. 2 at Hamilton Air Force Base.
Mrs. Hill, of 910 San Jose Boulevard, died at the Hamilton Base Hospital Sunday of a brain hemmorage (sic). She was 37.
She had lived in Novato for three years and was a member of the Pacheco School Parent-Teacher Assn.
She was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Hiroshima, and lived there with her family, who survived the atom bomb blast on Aug. 5, 1945.
She is survived by her husband, T/Sgt. Jacob Hill; two daughters, Patricia Ann and Wanda Catherine of the home; her mother, Mrs. Naka Nitta of Hiroshima; three sisters, Tsuyako Johns of Norfolk, Va., and Tamai Nitta and Judy Nitta of Hiroshima, and a brother, Isamy Nitta of Hiroshima.
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Redwood Chapel Funeral Home in Novato. Burial will be in Cypress Hill Cemetery, Petaluma.
