CHRIS T. GASPARICH
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Friday at St. Hilary’s Church in Tiburon for Chris T. Gasparich of Belvedere, a cabinet designer and award-winning sailboat racer.
Mr. Gasparich, who was 77, died Monday at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born on the island of Olib in Yugoslavia and came to San Francisco in 1922. He owned and operated a refrigeration and cabinet-making business in San Francisco, where he designed showcases for supermarkets.
He moved to Belvedere in 1954.
Mr. Gasparich was an accomplished sailboat racer, winning more than 100 trophies through the years. He had been a member of the San Francisco Yacht Club in Belvedere for 44 years.
He is survived by his wife, Inez; a daughter, Jennifer A. Wreden of Novato; a son, Chris G. Gasparich of Alameda; a stepdaughter, June Frandsen of Huntington Beach; and 14 grandchildren.
Entombment will be at Mount Olivet cemetery in San Rafael.
