BURNELL D. HENDRICKSON
A private memorial service will be held at a later date for Burnell D. Hendrickson, a former longtime Marin resident and avid skin diver.
Mr. Hendrickson, 56, died Tuesday in Bend, Ore.
He had lived in Marin County for many years, moving to the county in the 1940s after he returned from active duty with the Marines.
He was born in Minnesota and came to San Francisco before entering the military service.
In Marin, he worked for Sohner Tree Service.
Much of his leisure time, he spent skin diving in the Bay Area. In 1960, he developed a more efficient aqualung device for divers.
Mr. Hendrickson is survived by his mother, Dorothy Hendrickson of Bend; two sons, Burnell B. Hendrickson Jr. and Hans Eric Hendrickson; three brothers and one sister.
