KATHERYN E. GIUBERGIA
A blessing service for Katheryn Elizabeth Giubergia of Sonoma was to be held today at the funeral home of Bates, Evans and Fehrensen in Sonoma.
Mrs. Giubergia died Friday at Sonoma Valley Hospital after an illness. She was 77.
She was a native of Sonoma and lived all her life there. Mrs. Giubergia had taught school in Sonoma and Petaluma for a few years.
She was a member of the Valley of the Moon chapter of Order of Eastern Star and the Women of the Moose in Petaluma.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Americo Italo John Giubergia of Sonoma; four daughters, Sister Joan Katheryn of Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, Ida May Larrieu of Portola, Claire Elizabeth Griffith and Jessie Lucia Nelson, both of Modesto; a son, John Lewis Giubergia of Red Bluff; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at St. Francis Solano Cemetery in Sonoma. The family prefers that contributions be made to the scholarship memorial fund of Marin Catholic High School, 675 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Kentfield, 94904.
