JOHN HUGHES
John Hughes, a 50-year resident of Mill Valley, died at his residence Wednesday after a lengthy illness. He was 78.
He was an honorary member of the Mill Valley Tennis Club.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hughes of Mill Valley; a daughter, Patricia Loy of Mill Valley; and three grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending at Russell & Gooch Funeral Service of Mill Valley.
The family prefers memorial gifts to the League of Concern of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mill Valley or a favorite charity.

JOHN V. HUGHES
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Mill Valley for John V. Hughes.
The Mill Valley resident died Wednesday after an illness. He was 78.
Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hughes; a daughter, Patricia Loy; and three grandchildren: Douglas, David and Barbara Loy, all of Mill Valley.
The family prefers that memorial gifts be made to the League of Concern in care of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 3 Oakdale Ave., Mill Valley, or to the donor’s favorite charity.

A Death Notice in the July 29th paper mentions his son-in-law Sam Loy; Mr. Hughes was a native of Minnesota.
