Sausalito Contractor Killed At Kentfield
On Sunday evening, August 9th, about 6 o’clock, Carl Huron Smith, a building contractor living at Sausalito, was killed by an electric train at Kentfield. The accident was witnessed by a score of people. Smith evidently did not hear the approach of the train for he walked deliberately upon the tracks. He seemed to be preoccupied with a business proposition which brought him to Kentfield.
He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Susie Smith, and two children – Charles, five years old, and Lucie, aged 3. The funeral was held in San Francisco Tuesday afternoon and interment was private.
The deceased was well known in this city where he was the leader of the San Rafael Band.
