Mrs. ELIZABETH VAN DER WEYDE

Funeral for Mrs. Elizabeth Van der Weyde, about 60, mother of Ross School District Supt. William W. Monahan, was scheduled today in Honolulu.

Mrs. Van der Weyde died unexpectedly Sunday in a Honolulu rest home. She had long suffered from cancer but was believed to be recovering.

A native of California, she was a graduate of University of California, Berkeley. She lived in the Bay Area until after World War II, when she accompanied her husband, William Van der Weyde, on a return visit to his native Holland.

Upon her husband’s death in 1959, she moved to Honolulu and had lived there since.

Surviving are her son, a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Melim of Honolulu, and five grandchildren.

Burial was in Honolulu.
