Judge Maguire Dies At His Home

Thomas R. Maguire, Justice of the Peace in Sausalito for eight years, and candidate fro re-election, died at the home of his sister in Mill Valley last Friday.

The Judge had been a sufferer for years from tuberculosis but had always, notwithstanding his illness, discharged the duties of his office faithfully.

His clean political campaign before the primaries won the admiration of a large number of voters in his district and through their suffrage he was to have contested for his seat in November against Frederick Low.

Judge Maguire had been appointed to sit in the Recorder’s Court of Larkspur on the evening of the day he died. Out of respect to his memory Recorder F. J. Hurst adjourned court, after having paying a tribute to the memory of his colleague.

In a similar vein Mr. Martinelli and Mr. Gree, attending court in a legal capacity, spoke of the death of Judge Maguire. Attorney Meldon also spoke with feeling of the demise of the man with whom he had transacted business for many years.

The funeral, held in Mill Valley, was in charge of Mrs. E. C. Dowd, and was largely attended.
