Death Claims John Louis Roberts
John Louis Roberts, one of the oldest and best known residents of t his city, died after a comparatively short illness at his residence, Mission and Mary streets, Sunday afternoon.
For more than forty years Mr. Roberts has lived in this city, and he had gained and merited the respect of all with whom he had come in contact, either in business or social circles. He was a trusted friend and employee of William T. Coleman, and from him he purchased the property on which his home stands.
For nearly a quarter of a century Mr. Roberts has been identified with the Hitchcock and Convent bus line which has transported thousands of residents of the Coleman Addition to and from the more central parts of San Rafael.
The deceased leaves a widow, Mrs. Rachel Roberts, with whom he had lived for a large majority of his 71 years of life.
The funeral service, which was held in private, took place yesterday, and the remains were interred in Mt. Tamalpais cemetery.
