ROGER F. THAANUM
Roger F. Thaanum of San Rafael died Monday of a sudden illness at the age of 71.
A native of Washington, he lived in San Rafael for 13 years.
Thaanum worked for the U.S. Forest Service for more than 40 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, which he served during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Alice D. Thaanum of San Rafael; two daughters, Bonnie Thaanum of Oxnard, Ventura County, and Robin Thaanum Dean of Kent, Wash.; a son, Michael James Thaanum of Fremont; a sister, Patricia DeFeyter of Wenatchee, Wash., and two grandchildren.
There will be a funeral Thursday at 1 p.m. at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael. Burial will be private. The family prefers memorial donations to a favorite charity.
