Mrs. Peter Dies At C Street Home
Marin county lost another one of its pioneers last Thursday in the death of Mrs. Louise Peter at the Peter home on C street. Her passing was as tranquil as had been her life. Her sorrowing family found her resting as if in sleep, but it was the slumber from which there is no earthly waking.
Mrs. Peter was born in France seventy-one years ago, and she had lived in San Rafael for thirty-nine years, a good mother and wife and a respected woman.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon under the direction of Dr. Sawyer from St. Raphael’s church and interment was made in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
The family surviving Mrs. Peter consists of the husband, Louis Peter, a daughter, Marie F., and sons, Louis J. and Harry Peter, the latter of New York.
Mr. Peter and his son Louis have conducted the Peter Dry Goods store here for a great many years, and the establishment is well known all over the county.
