Former Resident Dies In Oakland

The funeral service of E. A. Stevens, who lived here for several years in Fifth avenue, was held Monday afternoon at the First Congregational church in Oakland. He died at his home in that city, Twenty third avenue, last Friday at the age of 79 years, after an intermittent illness of many months.

Mr. Stevens was the father of the Rev. C. H. Stevens, former pastor of the Congregational church here, and of Everett Stevens of Sausalito, now the traveling time inspector of the Northwestern Pacific railroad.

Besides his two sons, the deceased leaves a widow to survive him. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, which order took charge of the funeral ceremony. Burial was made in Mountain View cemetery.
