Pioneer Woman Is Called By Death
Mrs. Antoinette Cheda died this morning, marking the loss by Marin county of one of its oldest pioneers. Because of her advanced age, the members of the family have despaired for some time of her recovery from an illness from which she had been suffering for several months.
Mrs. Cheda and her husband came to Marin county from Switzerland 54 years ago, and for the greater part of the time since their arrival, Mrs. Cheda had lived in San Rafael. At the time of his death, Gaudenzio Cheda was a prominent business man here.
Mrs. Cheda was the mother of a family of six children, five of whom are living. They are Mrs. Filomenia Sartori, Mrs. Iride Roman, Silvio H. Cheda, V. J. B. Cheda and George A. Cheda, all of the Bank of San Rafael. She was the mother also of the late Gildo Dardier.
The funeral, under the direction of Dr. F. E. Sawyer, will be held at St. Anselm’s church in San Anselmo Saturday morning.
