Commits Suicide To End Suffering

The contents of a bottle labeled cholorform ended the life of George C. Brown, an employee of the Tait-Zinkand café in San Francisco, whose body was found Saturday in Williams’ Gulch by Alfred Peterson.

Brown, it was learned by Deputy Coroner Keaton Mnday, came up missing from the café the day following Thanksgiving. He had held the position of storekeeper. The clew (sic) to his identify was found in a receipted bill which he had on his person, showing that he had been sent to settle a small account for his employers. It is believed by his fellow workmen that he became despondent and sought relief in death from his suffering from rheumatism. He was about 60 years of age, and as far as is known had no relatives. The funeral was held yesterday by Dr F. E. Sawyer.
