MATTHEW G. CAUGHIE
Matthew G. Caughie, a retired machinist and 43-year resident of Mill Valley, died Wednesday at San Rafael Convalescent Hospital after a brief illness.
He was 77.
Mr. Caughie was a native of San Francisco who moved to Mill Valley in 1942.
For 40 years, he was a machinist at Mare Island Navy Yard. He retired in 1964.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred; a daughter, Jean Kennedy of British Columbia; and three grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Isabella’s Catholic Church in Terra Linda.
Burial will be in British Columbia.
The family prefers spiritual bouquets or a donation to a favorite charity in Mr. Caughie’s memory.
