VINCENT P. GIOVANNONI

A Mass of Christian Burial for Vincent Peter “Vince” Giovannoni of San Anselmo will be said at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anselm’s Church in San Anselmo. Mr. Giovannoni died Friday at Ross General Hospital after a brief illness. He was 79.

He was born in Jackson, Amador County. He lived in San Francisco before moving to Marin in 1942.

Mr. Giovannoni was a retired bakery foreman for the Compton Cafeteria chain in San Francisco. He had worked for the past 13 years as an adviser at the Marin Civic Center cafeteria.

Mr. Giovannoni was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Giovannoni.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna Bjorn of San Anselmo and Barbara Husak of San Rafael; two brothers, Aladino Giovannoni of Stockton and Peter Giovannoni of Hayward; two sisters, Adele DeFerrari of Lafayette and Frances Briggs of Hayward; and seven grandchildren.

The rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Sunday. Entombment will be at the Italian Cemetery in Colma.

The family asked that memorial gifts go to St. Anthony’s Dining Room, 121 Golden Gate Ave., San Francisco, 94102.
