Petaluma Boy Is Accidentally Killed

Edward Anderson, an 18-year-old boy, the son of Jorgen Anderson, a Petaluma businessman, was instantly killed last Saturday at Marshall by a Northwestern Pacific freight train almost in front of the eyes of h is brother and another companion.

The two Anderson boys and Edward Howe were camping beside the track at the time of the accident. Edward, for some reason left the camp on the beach and climbed up the bluff to the track. A few minutes later a tramp called to the campers and told them that a boy was lying alongside the track a few yards above. Robert, the older brother, went to the spot indicated and discovered the dead body of the boy.

The father, who conducts a meat market in Petaluma, was notified and went to the scene immediately. Coroner F. E. Sawyer held an inquest within a few hours and found that the boy came to his death by accident, and the body was taken to Petaluma by Coroner Blackburn, of Sonoma county, for burial.

The boys had been camping near Marshall for three days. About two weeks ago they went to Fort Bragg. Their parents heard from them last from that place, and were not aware of their being at Marshall until informed of the tragedy.
