Mrs. Sands Stricken Suddenly With Death
Mrs. Elizabeth Sands was stricken suddenly with death last Friday and died in the presence of her son, Arthur Sands, with whom she was sitting at a table. Mrs. Sands, who was quite elderly, had been shopping in the forenoon, and the fatal attack occurred a few minutes after she reached her home.
The funeral was held Monday at St. Raphael’s church, and a requiem high mass was said for the repose of her soul. Although the deceased had been suffering from heart trouble for a long time, the sudden death shocked and saddened the friends of the good old lady, whose name since they have known her has been synonymous with good deeds and kind thoughts for others.
She was the widow of the late Robert Sands and the mother of Arthur C., George W., Edward F. and the late Robert E. Sands and Mrs. Eva DeMetz. She was a native of Massachusetts.
