ZELLA BROWN
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Protestant Church in Walnut Grove, Sacramento County, for Zella Brown of Novato.
Mrs. Brown, a former longtime Belvedere resident, died Saturday at the Tamalpais Creek Retirement Home in Novato. She was 82.
She was a native of Berkeley and lived in Walnut Grove before moving to Belvedere about 20 years ago after her husband’s death.
Her late husband, Alex Brown, was the founder of the 19-branch Bank of Alex Brown. The bank was at one time one of the largest family-owned banks in the world.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Jennifer Stice Rowe of Washington, and three great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sacramento.
