BENNETT ARTHUR HARRIS

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alameda for Bennett Arthur Harris of San Francisco, a longtime teacher in San Rafael schools.

Mr. Harris died Saturday at home.

He was a native of Aberdeen, S.D.

Mr. Harris was a business teacher in the San Rafael district for the past 20 years.

He was a member of the California Teachers Association and the National Education Association.

Mr. Harris also was an accomplished singer and a base-baritone soloist at the Swedenborgian Church in San Francisco.

He is survived by his wife, Selyna Hovland-Harris of San Francisco.

Burial will be at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo.

The family prefers memorial gifts to the Music Funds at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alameda.
