Drops Dead After Launch Ride On Bay

Marcel Girard, cashier of the French-American bank in San Francisco, dropped dead last Sunday as he stepped from a launch at Chicken Point after an early morning spin on the bay with Roger Bosqueraz, with whom he was spending the week-end. Girard complained of feeling ill shortly before, and it was for that reason that the launch was turned shoreward. Hardly had Girard cleared the gunwales of the boat when he pitched forward, dead.

Physicians were called and every effort made to revive the deceased. The body was then taken to the parlors of Dr. F. E. Sawyer. It was subsequently learned that Girard had no relatives in San Francisco, and a cable was dispatched to Paris. It is likely that the remains will be shipped to France for burial. Girard was about 35 years of age. He was unmarried and lived in apartments at 853 Hyde street, San Francisco.
