EARL L. STEWART
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Redwood Chapel Funeral Home in Novato for Earl L. Stewart of Novato, a retired engineer.
Mr. Stewart, 61, died Tuesday at home after a long illness.
He was a native of Rimersburg, Penn., and had lived in California for almost 40 years.
Mr. Stewart worked for about 35 years as a test engineer at Mare Island in Vallejo.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Stewart was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7816 in Novato.
His survivors include his wife, Jean Stewart of Novato; two daughters, Jacqueline Silvester and Judith L. Carpenter of San Jose; one son, Larry A. Stewart of Lake Tahoe; a brother, Willis Stewart of Pennsylvania; a sister, Vietta Phillippi of Petaluma; and five grandchildren.
Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park in Novato.
Friends may call at Redwood Chapel Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Thursday.
The family prefers memorial contributions to VFW Post No. 7816 in Novato or the American Cancer Society.
