CLARENCE E. TUCKER
The funeral for Clarence E. Tucker of Novato was to be at 11 a.m. today at the Redwood Chapel Funeral Home in Novato.
Mr. Tucker died Saturday at home after a lengthy illness. He was 71.
Mr. Tucker, a native of Oklahoma, had lived in Novato for 30 years. He had worked for 30 years as a machinist at Mare Island, retiring in 1979.
Mr. Tucker was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Novato American Legion post, an elder of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Novato and a member of the Audubon Society, Tamalpais Conservation Club and the Redwood region of the Ornithological Society.
Survivors are his wife, Eleanor Tucker of Novato; two sons, Donald Tucker of San Francisco and Thomas Tucker of Texas; four daughters, Judith Aster of Washington, Jo Ann Gomes of Hawaii, Alice Nelson of Rohnert Park and Emily Tucker of Novato; his mother, Ethel Tucker of Texas; a sister, Lillian Simpson of San Bruno; four brothers, Harlan Tucker of Georgia, Warren Tucker of Texas, Clyde Tucker of St. Helena and Alfred Tucker of Washington; and nine grandchildren.
Burial was to be at Valley memorial park. The family prefers contributions to Hospice of Marin.
