Death Results From Sausalito Quarrel
A quarrel between Frank Soldavini and Antonio Tacchi, both employed as car cleaners at Sausalito by the Northwestern Pacific, last Friday, resulted Tuesday morning in the death of Tacchi from a knife wound in the chest.
Soldavini was arrested immediately and lodged in the county jail. He was charged upon the death of Tacchi with the crime of murder.
The quarrel arose, according to the statement of Soldavini, over a letter sent to him by Tacchi, at whose house Soldavini had been boarding. When the men quit work Friday afternoon, the report is, Soldavini asked Tacchi to explain the meaning of the communications. Hot words were followed by blows. Although there were spectators, no one interfered. Suddenly Tacchi sank down. Soldavini then walked away. Tacchi was carried to a physician, and an examination revealed that he had been seriously cut on the left breast above the heart.
Dr. Mays was of the opinion then that the man would not recover, but he said there was no immediate danger of death.
Soldavini will be taken this week before Judge Helmore of Sausalito for preliminary examination and prosecuted by District Attorney Butler.
Tacchi leaves a widow and several children. Soldavini is also a married man, with a wife and five children in Italy.
