Kentfield Man Dies In Accident

John Leonardi, of Kentfield, was fatally injured Sunday evening when he was struck and knocked down by an automobile driven by George Schultze, driver for Lee Brothers of Santa Rosa.

He was taken immediately to the Cottage Hospital and died on the operating table.

Schultze, said to be an extremely careful driver, came to the hospital with the wounded man and Mr. Gilhuly, in whose car the deceased was removed.

The next day Schultze was notified to appear and testify to the circumstances at the inquest, which will be held by Coroner Sawyer tomorrow night.

The deceased conducted a small milk route in Kentfield and made his deliveries with a pushcart. As near as can be learned, he became confused in the glare of the headlight and attempted to cross before the machine.

He is survived by a widow, who is penniless, and two small children.
